4 Lives, 3 Generations, 1 Maternity Center…
In September 2014, Patricia delivered a beautiful baby girl with Rota, the national director and one of the midwives of the Sarobidy Maternity Center. This sweet baby girl was named, Sarobidy (precious), and was the first namesake of the Sarobidy Maternity Center.
This past August, Elisa, a young 19-year old entered our prenatal program. She looked incredibly familiar but I simply couldn’t place her. As we talked and I learned more of her history, it all became clear. Elisa was Patricia’s oldest daughter, a carbon copy in appearance to her mom! We laughed together and Elisa updated me on her mom and her little sister, Sarobidy.
A few months later, Sarobidy joined her sister Elisa for her prenatal appointment. Sarobidy and I spent the morning together… she is quite possibly the most talkative 6-year old I’ve ever met! She shared all about school and her favorite subjects, we took silly selfies and she colored pictures next to me while I worked. It was a precious few hours together.
Last week, Elisa delivered a beautiful baby boy at the Sarobidy Maternity Center with her mother, Patricia, by her side and the dedicated midwives shepherding life safely into the world. Four lives spread over three generations touched through one maternity center.
We praise God for His gentle hand of protection over this sweet family and over Elisa and her baby. We’re thankful that generations have already been touched by the tender care offered at the Sarobidy Maternity Center and we pray that generations upon generations would receive respectful, kind, compassionate and competent care during an often scary and uncertain time in a woman’s life. We pray for generations of women, children and families to deeply embrace the truth and knowledge that they are sarobidy, precious, in the sight of the Lord.
