Opening weeks…

On Monday, May 13th, just 1 day after American Mother’s Day (Malagasy Mother’s Day is actually the 26 of May), we officially opened the doors of the Sarobidy Maternity Center.  What a feeling!  We received the first 5 pregnant women that day and the joy in the air was palpable.

The second week, we added the education component to the prenatal program.  As you can see from the picture… we started with the basics….

On Thursday, May 23rd, we started the postpartum program with 3 women and their babies.

We started the postpartum education on the same day for the new mommas.

On Friday, May 24th, we started the weekly Bible Study with the ladies.  Pastor Tovo, Pastor Tiana and Jamie will rotate weekly in the teaching.

We feel incredibly blessed and privileged to walk alongside these women and their babies during this sweet time of their lives.  Sarobidy.  Precious.  Life is precious.  These ladies and their babies are precious.

Next month, we’ll add more women into each of the programs.  There’s already 6 women who have applied for the prenatal program and our neighbor just delivered her son 2 nights ago.

And so, we’re off and running at the Sarobidy Maternity Center and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
